Methodology

Last updated: July 19, 2026

This page explains how research on Marketaxiom.com is generally created, reviewed, and interpreted.

Our approach is built around a simple idea: markets leave clues, but no single chart, ratio, report, or model tells the full story. We use data, structure, and judgment to build useful research context for traders and investors.

1. Our Research Principle

Marketaxiom is built for research and education.

We do not publish quick trading calls, guaranteed predictions, or one-size-fits-all investment conclusions. Instead, we focus on understanding what market data may be showing beneath the surface.

The goal is not certainty. The goal is better context.

2. What We Look For

Our research focuses on situations where data may reveal useful market clues.

This can include positioning, valuation, price behavior, fundamentals, sentiment, volatility, sector trends, and changes in market structure.

We are especially interested in areas where price, value, positioning, and expectations appear to be out of balance.

3. COT Research

For COT research, we study how different groups of market participants are positioned in futures markets.

COT data can help highlight crowded trades, positioning extremes, major shifts, and changes in market sentiment.

We do not treat COT data as a prediction tool by itself. It is one input that needs to be compared with price action, trend, macro conditions, and risk.

4. Stock Screening and Value Research

For stock research, we use screens to find companies that may deserve a closer look.

These screens may include earnings, cash flow, valuation ratios, debt levels, margins, balance sheet strength, and other fundamental data.

A screen is only a starting point. A company can look cheap because it is overlooked, but it can also look cheap because the business has real problems. That is why further review matters.

5. Python-Based Workflow

Python supports parts of the Marketaxiom research process.

Scripts, filters, dashboards, and models can help process data, calculate ratios, rank securities, create charts, and identify unusual market conditions more efficiently.

Automation helps make the process faster and more consistent, but it does not replace judgment. Bad data, weak assumptions, or unusual market conditions can still lead to poor results.

6. Manual Review

Not everything on Marketaxiom is automated.

Manual review helps us check whether the data makes sense, whether an output looks distorted, and whether important context is missing.

This may include reviewing charts, company information, sector conditions, market environment, news context, or possible data quality issues.

7. Combining Different Inputs

We prefer to look at several pieces of evidence instead of relying on one indicator.

Depending on the topic, research may combine COT positioning, price trends, valuation data, fundamentals, volatility, historical comparisons, technical context, and macro conditions.

No input is perfect. Looking at several inputs can help create a more balanced view, but it still does not remove uncertainty.

8. Risk Comes First

Every research idea carries risk.

A cheap stock can become cheaper. A strong trend can reverse. A crowded trade can become even more crowded. A historical pattern can stop working.

For that reason, Marketaxiom content should always be used together with independent research, proper risk management, and realistic expectations.

9. Research Outputs

Marketaxiom may publish research in different formats.

This may include articles, COT commentary, stock screens, dashboards, charts, reports, educational lessons, downloadable material, and premium research updates.

The format may change depending on the topic, but the purpose remains the same: to provide clear research context, not personal financial advice.

10. Limitations

No research method is perfect.

Data can be delayed, incomplete, revised, or wrong. Models can be based on flawed assumptions. Market conditions can change quickly. Human interpretation can also be mistaken.

Marketaxiom research should never be used as the only basis for a trading or investment decision.

11. Research and Education Only

All content on Marketaxiom is provided for research and educational purposes only.

Nothing on this website should be treated as financial advice, investment advice, trading advice, tax advice, legal advice, or a personal recommendation to buy, sell, hold, or trade any asset.

You are responsible for your own research, decisions, and risk management.

12. Updates to Our Methodology

Our research process may change over time as we improve our tools, data handling, models, dashboards, and review process.

If our methodology changes in a meaningful way, we may update this page to keep it clear and current.
